I guess sleeping in until 11 yesterday so that I would be good and rested for the DSP exam isn’t helping any. It’s sure not going to be helping at about 8am when the alarm goes off.
How’d the DSP test go? Well I’m glad you asked, because I kicked it into the dirt. Thought I may have gotten a 100 but talking with Daly tonight made me realize that I left out a u(n) on one of my answers. It makes the answer completely wrong, but if you look at how much work it took to get there (all of which I did correctly, of course) and the fact that it was only 1/3rd of one problem, it shouldn’t cost me more than a few points. I should have still gotten an A on the exam and pulled off a B in the course. I’m happy if that’s what happened, my main concern with this one was making sure I passed, although I will say that studying for about 16 hours the past few days, and probably 24 hours in the past week, has taught me a great deal of DSP – all of which I will be terribly suprised if I ever use again. J/K.
Now the focus switches to Wireless. A great deal of cellular communications theory and multiple access techniques await. This one should be fairly straightforward, if I can keep the variables straight and remember not to use the voltage equaton for dB. You use 20log(Vout/Vin) 10,000 times and then try to switch to using 10log(Pout/Pin) for one class. Anyway. Maybe I’ll try to sleep again.
