Off to OneDay2003
25 May 2003

As of 8AM this rainy Sunday morning, Daniel Meyer, my wonderful girlfriend Katie, and myself will be heading up to Bells, TX for OneDay2003. For those of you who have never heard of it, OneDay is a gathering of college students from all over the world, with the goal being to spend a day before God in worship and prayer.

When I went to OneDay in 2000, it was one of the most incredible events of my life. We spent months preparing and took a group of about 25 people from the ministry I was a part of. We drove half way across the country to camp in field with 35,000 other students, all there to seek the face of God. It was amazing.

This time is a bit different, but God is the same. I expect that He will show up in a powerfull way, even though the inches of rain that have soaked the ground for the past couple of days. Thats one thing that is no different from last time, the rain. Most would say “that’s miserable, to be camping for a few days out in the rain and mud.” In reality its a blessing.

At the last OneDay event in 2000, it was cloudy and rainy each day we were there, clearing off only the last morning. We all got so much sun that few hours the last day that we were thankful it had not been sunny all along, we would have been toast. Instead, the clouds kept the sun from deep frying us, as well as keeping the temperatures toleratable in Memphis.

Watch for the story on TV – last time there were news choppers hovering overhead during the event. We will be back and kicking the norm by Tuesday.
