I’m sitting here solving all the world’s problems. No, really. The truth is, I am writing my final paper for Dr. Rabe’s U.S. Expansionism course. The prompt is basically to describe what would best fix the current crisis that U.S. policymakers face. From the threat of terrorism to Iraq and South Korea to dealing with the UN and relations with the EU, I have to conjure up the solutions and cite why, historically, my solutions will hold goat.
Honestly, I don’t think that there has been a time in history like the one in which we live. At the same time there aren’t that many differences between the historical events of the past months and those of many different points in history. The obvious difference is the flow and availiability of information. Through the internet and phones, both wired and wireless, one can be connected to the latest sources of information from anywhere on the planet. This leads to so many possibilites, but at the same time so many hazards.
I’ll probably post the paper here when I am done sometime Monday morning, so feel free to read it, argue it, and trash it if you like.
