LJ User Interdictor is blogging live about life in New Orleans. He is an employee at a DirectNIC who, along with a few other employees, are trying to keep their data center up and running. They have a 75kW generator and a 1000 gal diesel tank, but only have a day or two of fuel left(but say they have secured 3 weeks more). Their live cam has a shot of a burning building in downtown, and I just watched a firetruck drive up to the building and turn around and drive off. I guess they’re at a loss and have more pressing matters, but apparently from some of his comments they’ve still been fighting fires.
